These meetings provide a regular forum for members to study IKEBANA, hold exhibitions, learn about other aspects of Japanese culture, and observe IKEBANA experts demonstrating their skill at IKEBANA arrangement. Friendship luncheons, special tours, and lectures on related arts are typical monthly activities. Members of other IKEBANA International chapters are always welcome at a chapter's meeting.

Regional Conferences
Regional Conferences are held in each region every few years for educational and cultural purposes. Each regional conference will feature at least one two-hour demonstration by a top IKEBANA artist, as well as training workshops and an opportunity for members to display their own IKEBANA arrangements.
World Convention
IKEBANA INTERNATIONAL World Convention is held at every five years in Japan, where top IKEBANA artists demonstrate their art, and training workshops are offered by high-level teachers from IKEBANA schools. Large exhibition is also held with hundreds of members from the world displaying their own IKEBANA arrangements.
Starting a Chapter
A chapter starts as a prospective chapter that has at least two schools of IKEBANA including minimum six, preferably ten members. In preparation for becoming a prospective chapter, the members should elect officers and develop a chapter constitution and bylaws. For detailed information, please contact the INTERNATIONAL Headquarters, and request a copy of "the CHAPTER DIRECTIVE".
After a prospective chapter has had at least one successful year with a well-organized program for public promotion of IKEBANA and an increase of membership (preferably to a minimum of fifteen members), the members may apply to the INTERNATIONAL Headquarters to become a chartered chapter. |
