Friendship Room
fri1The Friendship Room was the venue for some lighthearted craft lessons in origami. But in both a figurative and real sense, the entire Convention was a friendship wherever and whenever serendipity smiled. This World Convention was not only a festival of our ikebana art form, but was a dynamic event overflowing with ideas and sharing and personalities and interest in courses for I.I.'s future.

Programs Open to the Public
fri11High school students belonging to ikebana clubs were invited to an ikebana workshop, which was open to the public. One such group walking through the Exhibition glowed with excitement and energy. This kind of animation could be seen in the faces and body language of all the visitors to the Exhibition. Convention attendees perhaps were more pensive and focused than the members of the public, but the energy and power of this event permeated the Convention and made it an unforgettable experience. The girls expressed desire to continue doing ikebana after graduation and into adult life.
